General Questions for Stump Removal

  • Do I Need to Remove My Stump?

Yes! Stumps left to rot are not only a physical hazard in your yard but can also attract animals and pests such as termites.

  • Why Can't We Remove the Stump When You Come Out to Give Me a Quote?

Safety. After verifying that there are no underground utility lines or other obstructions near the stump site, we will only grind your stump after verification. That's why we need at least 48 hours between your quote appointment and stump removal. Iowa One Call will locate utilities for free, which we will schedule on your behalf. We ask you to find all irrigation and other underground systems that Iowa One Call needs help locating.

  • How Long Does Stump Removal Take?

While we wish we could give you an exact amount of time for this, the truth is, it depends.

The type of wood we are grinding, how decomposed it is, and what the root system is like all contribute to the time it will take us to grind and remove your tree stump entirely.

Our priority is the complete removal of your tree stump, so no matter how long it takes, we work hard to ensure that you receive quality tree stump grinding for a fair price.

  • Do You Offer Any Discounts for Stump Removal?

I'm glad you asked! We offer the following discounts on your tree stump removal:

    • Customers ages 62+
    • Veterans
    • Customers with multiple stumps to remove

Please call us at 319-343-8043 or complete our online quote request form for more information.

Before Stump Removal

  • Who Will Locate All Hazards Before My Stump Removal?

We call Iowa One Call at least 48 hours before your stump removal project. The utility companies will come to locate their specific systems in your property.

Suppose you have an underground irrigation system or other underground systems not covered by One Call that could interfere with your stump removal. In that case, we ask you to please mark those out on your property before your stump removal appointment.

  • Do I Need to Be Home for My Stump Removal Quote?

Yes. Please show us the stump to ensure we are removing the correct stump on the right property.

  • My Stump Is in the Backyard in a Hard-to-Reach Place. Can You Remove It?

That depends. Our grinder can move through a standard 35″ gate opening, so as long as we have that much room, there's a good chance we can get your stump out.

The only way to know is to request your FREE, no-obligation tree stump removal quote. At your quote appointment, we can give a definitive yes or no for whether or not your project is doable with our machinery.
